Rudy-Vocals Formed in late 1999, MindCandy has quickly established themselves as one of Detroit’s hardest rocking and most compelling live band. MindCandy’s sonic assault draws upon the melodic sensibilities of Stone Temple Pilots and The Doors while combining it with the ear slamming guitar crunch of Black Sabbath, Godsmack and Disturbed. Call it Nu-Metal, heavy alternative, or loud rock–- no matter what the name MindCandy rocks with the intensity of the Incredible Hulk in a firestorm.

MindCandy has been featured on numerous Detroit commercial radio stations including 89X, 101.5 The Banana in Flint, MI and 97.1 FM. Real Detroit Weekly named MindCandy “Best Hard Rock/Metal Band”. Further attesting to the band’s popularity, were two packed shows at Detroit’s legendary State Theatre. Where a crowd of over 2000 MindCandy fans rocked to the band’s powerhouse live show. While promoting their debut CD “Anger Management”. MindCandy played live in-stores at eight consecutive Harmony House locations – a feat no other band in Detroit has matched. MindCandy has shared the stage with many national acts including NothingFace, Flaw and Slaves on Dope. MindCandy was also nominated for a Detroit Music Award for Best Hard Rock Band in 2003.
Produced by renowned knob twister Mark Berry (David Bowie, Duran Duran), the ten-track “Fortune Teller” is a stellar rock record possessing enough motor city muscle to knock out Joe Louis. The disc also features artwork by famed artist Matt Busch, who’s credits include “Star Wars,” “The Matrix,” and “Reservoir Dogs. ” “Fortune Teller” is picking up speed on radio across the nation, MindCandy has also donated music to Pride Fighting. They recently shot a video for No Pain off their soon to be released new EP Recognize.
